Steve Jobs certainly made a dent in the universe. As a business leader, innovator and of course, a speaker. His legacy will continue to impact our daily lives for years to come. In the video above, Carmine Gallo – autor of “Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs” (a fantastic and highly recommended book), outlines a few key points that made Jobs such a powerful presenter including:
- Set a theme and make it clear and consistent
- Open and close each section with a clear transition
- Sell an experience
I’ve seen this video a few times and often refer back to it when putting together a keynote speech. Although it’s hard to implement all the ideas (I’m no Steve Jobs), but I have certainly noticed an improvement in audience reactions and content retention when I tried the roadmap idea for example. So, take a couple of minutes and give it a watch.
